AMC on Wednesday expanded the range of cryptocurrencies it plans to accept soon for movie ticket purchases and concessions.

In its August second quarter earnings report, AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. AMC,
-0.97%,
the largest cinema chain in the country, has announced that it will accept bitcoin BTCUSD,
+ 0.86%
for online purchases of tickets and concessions before the end of this year. In a tweet on Wednesday, AMC chief executive Adam Aron said that Ethereum ETHUSD,
+ 2.78%,
Litecoin LTCUSD,
+ 3.30%
and Bitcoin Cash BCHUSD,
-1.11%
will also be accepted.

During the August earnings call, Aron said that AMC will also accept payments through Apple Inc.’s AAPL,
+ 0.61%
Alphabet’s Apple Pay and GOOGL,
+1.32%

GOOG,
+1.26%
Google Pay by the end of the year.

A growing number of companies are accepting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a form of payment, including PayPal Holdings Inc. PYPL,
+ 0.07%
and Square Inc. SQ,
+ 0.71%.
Earlier this year, Tesla Inc. TSLA,
+ 1.52%
caused a stir after announcing he would accept bitcoin for payments, then halted those plans in May after CEO Elon Musk raised concerns about the effects of crypto mining on global consumption of energy.

AMC shares are up 2.100% year-to-date, thanks to the stock frenzy even earlier this year, although they have fallen 15% in the past three months.
