Stormchaser Movies

Some films are lucky, their debuts being timed to keep up with cultural trends. Oliver Stone on Wall Street in 1987. Barry Levinson’s Wag the Dog in 1997. Now, in 2021, there’s Me You Madness, the story of a hedge fund manager and a serial killer, just in time to all The hazelnut from the GameStop stock.

Reddit-provoked stock price surge for retailer GameStop and movie channel AMC has led to movie-worthy drama about who can influence the stock market, a story that has become entangled stock trading apps like Robinhood. It is also putting a spotlight on hedge funds and how they make money.

Triple Threat Louise Linton wrote, directed and starred in Me You Madness, described as a comedy-thriller. He co-stars Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl) as a thief and potential victim of a serial killer. A new trailer released on Thursday is packed with expensive cars and sharp knives.

Linton plays hedge fund manager Catherine Black. “She lives a life of luxury with an architectural dream home in Malibu, exclusive designer clothes, fast cars and exquisite jewelry,” the film’s description reads. “She doesn’t need a man except to satisfy her natural serial killer instinct, literally.”

Linton is known for her horror roles in Cabin Fever and Intruder and as the wife of former US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who worked under the Trump administration. Mnuchin had been a hedge fund manager, which adds an extra layer of intrigue to the premise of Me You Madness.

Me You Madness will be available to stream on demand in the US on February 12. It might be the perfect movie for the era now that everyone seems to know what a hedge fund manager is.
