Even though Spider-Man actually leaves the Marvel film universe, actor Tom Holland returns to play the character in a third film after the box office success Spider-Man: Far From Home. Sony has long been producing its own Spider-Man movies, as the company made the original Spider-Man movies with Tobey Maguire, then the Amazing Spider-Man franchise with Andrew Garfield.
Last July, Kevin Feige, director of Marvel Studios, explained how the upcoming Spider-Man movie "will have to do something completely different" because of the Far From Home events. If you've seen the movie, you know what it's about.
It's no surprise that Sony wants to make more Spider-Man movies with Holland, while Homecoming and Far From Home have had tremendous box office success.
