DALLAS – The second day of testimony in the murder trial of Amber Guyger, a former Dallas policewoman, began with audio and video evidence of the night she shot her neighbor on the floor.
Guyger is charged with murder for the death of 26-year-old Botham Jean last September.
She says the shooting was accidental. She told the police that she had gone to Jean's apartment thinking that it was hers and had shot her because she thought she was dead. He was an intruder.
The first state witness on Tuesday morning was the 911 call taker who had received Guyger's call. Guyger listened and sometimes wiped tears as his call to 911 was played in court.
"Oh my God, I thought it was my apartment. F ***!, She said to the call.
"I thought it was my apartment," she repeats again and again.
The jurors also saw agent Michael Lee's video illustrating a graphic body camera. He was one of the first officers to arrive at the scene the night of the shot.
The video shows Lee climbing four floors and crossing corridors to find Guyger in Jean's apartment.
"I thought it was my apartment," Gugyer repeats frantically once the officer arrives.
In the video, Lee gives Jean CPR, attempting heroic efforts to keep him alive until the ambulance arrives.
"Come on, Chief!" He shouted.

According to Guyger, what happened that night is just one set of unfortunate circumstances that led to John's untimely death.
