Inactive named for Steelers-Packers, three starters for Green Bay

Unlike Friday’s injury news, there was no surprise when the Packers pulled out their inactive against the Steelers. Cornerback Kevin King (concussion) and tackle Elgton Jenkins (ankle) have been listed as questionable coming in today and will both be eliminated against Pittsburgh. Both players missed Week 3, when Eric Stokes and Yosh Nijman replaced them in the starting lineup.

Three players have been listed as questionable on the Packers’ side: defensive lineman Jack Heflin, defenseman Vernon Scott and linebacker Krys Barnes. Heflin and Scott will play today, but Barnes has been left out. Scott is making his season debut, marking the first time the Packers have four game-day safeties this season. With Barnes out, the assumption is that Ty Summers would start in his place with Oren Burks turning for the sub-packages.

The Packers’ fourth and final inactive is outside linebacker La’Darius Hamilton, who was taken out of the Tampa Bay practice squad when Za’Darius Smith was placed on the injured list. Hamilton is the last player in the Packers’ 53-man roster that has yet to be activated on game day this season.

The Steelers are missing four players with injuries: wide receiver Chase Claypool, right tackle Chukwuma Okorafor, offensive lineman Rashad Coward, defensive tackle Carlos Davis. Claypool and Okorafor are not just contributors but starters for the team, leaving the Pittsburgh offense a bit empty-handed as they enter the game.

Full list of inactive against the Pittsburgh Steelers:

  • # 20 Kevin King, CB (concussion)
  • # 51 Krys Barnes, ILB (concussion)
  • # 54 La’Darius Hamilton, OLB
  • # 74 Elgton Jenkins, LT (ankle)
