The next iteration of Mahindra's hardcore SUV, the Thar was once again spied on. This time, we received for the first time spy images of the rigid roof variant. However, unlike the Thar of the current generation who gets the hardtop as an official accessory, Mahindra could introduce a hardtop variant with the upcoming model.
the hardcore SUV seems to have grown in all dimensions. However, Mahindra has retained the basic general design of the Thar. You get the iconic 7-slat radiator grille flanked by round headlights. Bumpers and wheel arches have also grown in size and the new generation Thar still has a spare tire on the tailgate.

Mahindra will abandon the CRDe engines of 2.5 liters (-106 / 247Nm) and 2.4 liters Di (64PS / 195Nm) of the current generation of Thar, thanks to the upcoming BS6 standards. Instead, the Thar will likely be powered by a 2.0-liter BS6-compliant diesel engine that is expected to produce 142 hp and 300 Nm of torque. The Thar, as an off-road, should also keep the all-wheel drive, low-range gearbox and rear-locking differentials to get the most out of your adventure trip.

The Thar will support a brand new Indian SUV manufacturer's platform. Although its details are rare for the moment, it should be considerably strengthened to meet future crash tests and safety standards. Speaking of which, we expect the new generation Thar that it has two airbags, an ABS system with EBD, rear parking sensors, a seat belt reminder for front occupants and a speed alert.
The interior of the vehicle has not yet been spied on. it is expected to have a more ergonomic cab. The next-generation Thar should also have basic features such as an audio system, manual air conditioning and power windows.
