WARNING: Spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 4 to come.
In addition to burying fallen soldiers in "The Long Night", the winning army at Winterfell began the episode of Game of Thrones tonight on a very good mark. They celebrated their victory with a feast in the great hall. Arya and Jon were praised and Tormund got drunk with piss. But best of all, Gendry had an unexpected promotion.
At the banquet, Daenerys Targaryen calls the blacksmith while he is about to leave in search of Arya Stark (his bae, if you have not kept up the pace). She knows that Gendry is the bastard of the late Robert Baratheon, who killed his brother Rhaegar and usurped the throne. Despite the bad blood that reigns between their homes, Dany legitimates Gendry and makes him the lord of Storm's End, the home of Baratheon's home. Now that his uncles Stannis and Renly are gone (RIP), he is the legitimate heir to the castle. Khaleesi did not simply legitimize him out of the goodness of his heart; she also did it to keep it as a faithful ally.
With his new title, Lord Gendry Baratheon of Storm's End is looking for his love Arya around Winterfell. He finds her practicing shooting at the bow and goes there: he gets on his knees and asks him to be his wife. (Now that he will be lord, they will be able to live together in a castle.)
