While many fans are still questioning the decision to withdraw the Women's SmackDown Championship in Asuka, one could baduming WWE has a more ambitious plan in place and that it was not a last-minute decision.
While Ronda Rousey's Raw Championship was already at the rendezvous at the meeting against WrestleMania, the addition of the SmackDown Women's Championship now offers the company the opportunity to unify both belts on the biggest stage possible.
Unifying both belts makes a lot of sense. The women's team championships already carry two brands and the division of the women's division between the two brands can only help them to develop in terms of exposure.
Although she continues to develop, the female division lacks depth to be evenly distributed. For the moment, it would be very clever on the part of the company to blow them between the two series.
