HYDERABAD: The Indian shuttles were successful at the opening day of the BWF World Championships in Nanjing on Monday. Silver medalists from the Russian Open Rohan Kapoor and Kuhoo Garg, who traveled from Vladivastock after Sunday's final, outclbaded Toby Ng and Rachel Honderich, of Canada, 21-9, 21 -6. They face Adbads – Chris and Gabrielle – in the next round.

Surabh Sharma and Anoushka Parikh struggled against Nigerians Enejoh Abah and Peace Orji 21-13, 21-12.

Meanwhile, leading Indian commuters Kidambi Srikanth and Saina Nehwal will appear in court on Tuesday.
