Karan Johar knows exactly when to release a movie. His ambitious project, Student Of The Year 2, was postponed until the summer of 2019. It was expected earlier in the theaters on November 23 of this year. On Monday, Karan tweeted: "There is a NEW DATE for # SOTY2 !!!! Admissions are now in summer 2019. Look at this space!"

While the student of the year has launched Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra the second installment will mark the debut of Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey. Tiger Shroff will play the lead role in SOTY 2.
The first film, directed by Karan Johar, was released in 2012, but he does not direct the second installment. He handed over to Punit Malhotra who directed films like I Hate Luv Storys and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein.
Ananya is the daughter of the actor Chunky Panday and his wife Bhavana. She is 19 years old and has made frequent news in the last two years with appearances at celebrity parties and in their social media photos. Tara has been part of a few sitcoms including The Suite Life by Karan & Kabir, broadcast on Disney India. The show was a Hindi adaptation of Zack and Cody's Suite Life.
