Actress Amala Paul said in a tweet that she was verbally abused and ridiculed by Susi Ganesan and his wife for expressing support for the filmmaker Leena Manimekalai, who had accused Ganesan of badual harbadment. Amala also recounted in a long note that she too had been badually harbaded on the sets of her 2017 film with Susi, Thiruttu Payale 2.

Amala expressed her support for Leena in a statement released on Twitter on Wednesday.Amala said, "Me too, although being the only 39; Thiruttupayale2's main actress, I've been the subject of two-way talks, misinterpreted offers and corporeal contacts This has made my TP2 experience a mentally fatiguing experience. I can fully understand what she might have suffered (sic). She also congratulated Leena for revealing her story.
Leena accused Susi Ganesan of misbehaving with her on the pretext of dropping her at home. She also revealed that she had to threaten him with a knife to escape. At the press meeting held Tuesday, she said: "It's the #metoo movement that has given me the courage to speak now."

Susi Ganesan's wife, Manjari Susi Ganesan, described Leena as "fraudulent fraud". for using the movement. Manjari also published a statement on Twitter in which he questioned Leena's reluctance to communicate details of the ordeal she would have experienced.
