The Hubble Space Telescope is back from the dead more than three weeks after an operational breakdown, as part of its mission to study and record the stars and galaxies far away from the universe.
This weekend, NASA enthusiastically announced that Hubble had resumed normal operations on Friday and completed its first scientific observations since Saturday October 5th.
Hubble, a joint project of NASA and the European Space Agency, had been down since. his gyroscope failed. The gyroscope is a device that measures the speed of rotation of the spacecraft and is essential to help Hubble to turn and lock itself to new targets.
Although the human operators of the powerful telescope successfully activated a spare gyroscope the next day, this device returned incorrect rotation rates.

After a series of key tests to confirm the stability of the gyroscope, the team has installed additional protections. in case the excessive rotation rates return, " although this is not anticipated ", according to NASA.
Hubble, originally intended to operate for only 15 years, has once again been fully functional for more than 28 years after its launch. The craft has been at the forefront of space exploration, and the team hopes it will continue to find fascinating discoveries for at least the next decade.
The year of Chandra's repair was good for the NASA repair team. Observatory is back online after solving a similar, but less serious, problem regarding the spare gyroscope of this spacecraft. Chandra is again working and scrutinizing the sky.
