A gunman killed two people and injured others in a yoga studio in Tallahbadee, Florida on Friday night before apparently being shot dead, officials said.
Tallahbadee Police Chief Michael DeLeo said the shooter had died as a result of a self-inflicted bullet wound. around 5:37 pm, and the arrived police found several victims shot and wounded. Six victims were shot dead and another victim was shot, DeLeo said. One gunshot victim died in a hospital and police said later on Friday night that a second person had also been killed.
DeLeo stated that everything indicated that the shooter acted alone.
"There are indications that many of the people who were inside fought back and tried not only to save themselves but also to save other people," said DeLeo, who was "a testament to his courage."
DeLeo said the police had tentatively identified the shooter, released Friday night. The investigators "work diligently to try to establish a link between him and the victims" and to determine the motives, said DeLeo.
Tallahbadee Mayor Andrew Gillum, Democrat Governor tweeted . ] his appreciation of the forces of order for their reaction to the shooting, and said that he would break the election campaign and return to town Friday night. A campaign was scheduled at West Palm Beach on Friday night.
"I am deeply grateful for the swift response from law enforcement to the shooting that took place at the Tallahbadee Yoga Center today, no act of gun violence is acceptable. "wrote Gillum. "I am in close communication with the forces of the order and I will return to Tallahbadee tonight."
Ron DeSantis, a Republican candidate for governorship against Gillum, tweeted that the news of the shooting was "heartbreaking". and that "Casey and I are praying for the families of the victim whose life was tragically carried away tonight and those taken to hospital with injuries."
Florida's current governor, Rick Scott, tweeted that the Florida Department of Law and Order were on hand to help the local police. "I will remain in constant communication with the forces of order," wrote Scott. "We offered the help of the state."
The Tallahbadee Democrat reported that a man who was in a nearby bar said that people had come looking for help and that a man from the yoga studio, called Hot Yoga was acting strange before opening fire during a clbad.
The newspaper reported that one of the security-seeking people, who was bleeding in the head, had told his clients that he had tried to stop the gunman but that the shooter was not there. had badped before the shooter.
Witness She Welling told AP that she was leaving an alcoholic beverage store in front of the mall and that she had seen at least three people boarding ambulances.

DeLeo asked anyone in the area after 5 pm until 6 pm and who may have seen something to contact the police.
