The film critic Saibal Chatterjee, in his review for NDTV, awards 3.5 out of 5 stars to the film and writes: "It's a family drama that stands out from the way it unfolds with Badhaai Ho is relatable despite the fact that it's a not-so-common situation, in real life or at the movies.
