The flamboyant Pakistani Shahid Afridi broke away from the Super League franchise in Pakistan, Karachi Kings, but was quickly replaced by Wasim Akram, a bigger name in world cricket.

Afridi left the Karachi Kings after being president and player for one season only.

The reason for his departure is that the owner of KK, Salman Iqbal, has asked to separate from the T10 league in the United Arab Emirates.

But Afridi refuses and leaves the franchise, after which Iqbal addresses Wasim Akram, badociated with the PSL franchise, Multan Sultans,

"Soon after the Pakistan Cricket Board announced that it had ended at his agreement with Multan Sultans because of payment problems, Iqbal contacted Wasim who agreed to join KK as president, "said one official.

It is interesting to note that Akram made it clear he would also maintain his partnership with the T10 league as he would badume the duties of talent hunt director and coach of the Maratha Arabians franchise.

Afridi would be on the line during the PSL draft on November 20 in Islamabad.
