Tata Harrier's under-the-arm storage is cooled to keep drinks cool

Tata Motors has released a series of images and video presentations of the future Harrier SUV. With these new teasers, Tata reveals new details every day on its flagship and most luxurious SUV. Until now, they have revealed the exterior, the dashboard, the side vents, the driving modes, the spill lamps and the JBL speakers.

Today, they revealed the storage space under the armrest of the driver and front pbadenger. This space will accommodate cans, paper cups. The space is also cooled in the air and introduced fresh air cooled to keep cold drinks. There is also an outside area to keep your drinks hot. You can also see a 12V port to charge your phones / devices.

Harrier, the flagship model of the company will be built on the new OMEGA architecture that was jointly developed by Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover. It was derived from the JLR D8 architecture that also underpins the Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery Sport. The Harrier also adopts the IMPACT 2.0 design language with a new monocoque architecture that improves torsional and flexural stiffness, while ensuring a strong presence on the roads, both in urban and rural conditions.

Interiors see the use of quality materials and finishes. The door handle becomes soft leather while the dashboard is all black. It will also feature memory seats, refrigerated storage beneath the front armrests, rear-facing smartphone slots for pbadengers and an 8.8-inch touch-screen infotainment system. Safety features will see a number of airbags, rollover mitigation and traction control while ABS, EBD and ESP will be offered as standard.

Tata Motors called the new Harrier Kryotec 2.0 engine. It is a 4 liter 2.0 liter diesel engine complying with the BS VI standard that was inspired by the cryogenic rocket engine. The engine is capable of delivering 140 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque combined with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Even after opening bookings for the new Tata Harrier, prices have also not been revealed. Although estimates put the Harrier in the Rs 13-16 lakh price range as it will have to face competition from high-end Hyundai Creta variants and Jeep Compbad mid-range variants.
