Voting in one-round polls for 230 peaceful seats rose to 74.61 percent and is expected to increase after the final count, poll officials said. The previous record was recorded in the 2013 badembly polls, while the turnout was 72.69%.

Voters gathered in large numbers in three constituencies in Balaghat district, affected by Naxal, with 75.05 percent in Baihar, 79.07 percent in Lanjhi and 80.05 percent in Paraswada, officials said.
