Huawei wants to launch the first phone with a screen hole, beating Samsung up to the finish line. This phone is perhaps the Huawei nova 4, whose rendering has just hit the goal.

The back design is pretty much a P20 Pro. The front side features a screen with a hole for the selfie camera in the upper left corner. This corresponds to the official teaser and disguised device that was sighted in the wild.
Huawei even broadcast live a demonstration of a device prototype with such a screen hole, which served as a basis for this rendering. Certainly presenters were very careful not to show the back during the flow.

It is likely that the Huawei nova 4 (as well as the Samsung phone) will use LCD screens manufactured by BOE, which explains the similarities in the design of the screen and the positioning of the camera holes.
