The Pakistani government decided to soon transform the ancestral home of Rishi Kapoor, a Bollywood star, into a museum in Hisha .

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the Pakistani government will turn the house from the actor into a museum.

"A call from Rishi Kapoor was launched and he asked that his family's house in Peshawar be We accepted his request," he told a group of visiting Indian journalists.

Rishi Kapoor asked Prithviraj Kapoor that his home in Peshawar be turned into a museum.

Pakistani Interior Minister Shehryar Khan Afridi said that Rishi Kapoor had phoned to preserve his family. Peshawar and "we respond positively to his request".

"He called me and talked about turning his ancestral home into a museum, now the federal and provincial governments are working on it and will soon turn the house into a museum," said Afridi.

Kapoor Haveli of Qissa Khwani Bazar was built by Bashwarnath Kapoor, the father of Prithviraj Kapoor, Bollywood icon.

Raj Kapoor, son of Prithviraj Kapoor, was born in Peshawar on December 14, 1924. The actor-director is best known for a series of blockbuster films that he made in the 1950s and 1960s

The Kapoor family left Peshawar after partition in 1947.
