Xiaomi Cepheus Snapdragon 855 engine spotted at Geekbench, probably Mi 9

In two days, Xiaomi will unveil a new Redmi phone with a 48 MP camera. However, another device is in preparation: a flagship product. The Xiaomi "Cepheus" rocked near Geekbench and he showed what the Snapdragon 855 can do.

If the name "Cepheus" sounds familiar to you, you may have seen the recent disbadembly of the APK by XDA . found references to this code name. There was evidence of a 48MP camera, a built-in fingerprint reader and a permanent display mode.

So it is clear that it is a flagship product of Mi and that it is quite possible that it is the Xiaomi Mi 9. The S855 chipset will be used in the 5G version of the Mi Mix 3, although we doubted that Xiaomi is also modifying the camera – it already upgrades the chipset and connectivity.

The "Ceph" ran on Android 9 Pie and contained 6GB of RAM, not huge surprises here (the Mi 8 also had 6GB of RAM as standard). The benchmark results are much closer to what we expect from the 855 than today's Galaxy S10 Lite.

Be that as it may, we plan to see the new Redmi phone (two in fact, including a Redmi Note) this Thursday. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is probably in a few months (the Mi 8 was unveiled in May).
