The famous South Indian actress Bhanupriya was accused of having harbaded a teenager she would have hired as a domestic helper. Police booked a case against Bhanupriya and his brother and opened an investigation.

Bhanupriya denied the allegations. She told reporters in Chennai that the girl, aged 16 to 17, was working at home for a year and was stealing money, jewelry and other valuables. The girl allegedly sent the stolen property to her home through her mother each time she went to her home.
