Govinda's nephew, Janmendra Ahuja, dubbed Dumpy Ahuja to his friends and family, died on Thursday; Janmendra suffered a cardiac arrest and was found dead at his Versova apartment on Thursday morning. Govinda, his son Yashvardan Ahuja and his nephew Krushna Abhishek, attended the funeral at Pawan Hans Crematorium on Thursday afternoon.
Shortly after his death, his cousins, including Ragini Khanna, Kamini Khanna, Krushna, and Govinda's daughter, Narmada Ahuja, arrived at his residence. The woman and Krushna actor, Kashmera Shah, said that it was a natural death in an interview with Spotboye.com. She said, "Jan will not be anymore. It's a natural death. We are deeply shocked.

Janmendra was the son-in-law of Govinda's older brother and producer-actor, Kirti Kumar. According to a report from LiveHindustan, Kirti had legally adopted it by his domestic helper Mahendra.
Janmendra was a professional director and lyricist of several films. He directed Govinda's 2007 film, Jahan Jaaeyega Hamen Paaeyega, also starring Krushna. He also wrote the songs of Pyaar Diwana Hota Hai, 2002 film by Govinda and Rani Mukerji.
