How much do you agree with Bal Thackeray's ideology?
An actor does not have his own ideology. Whenever I play a role, I have to believe in the ideology and philosophy of the character. Without understanding his ideology, I can not do justice to the character. Once the task is over, I leave the character and advance to enter another character and his ideology.

Thackeray can be your biggest solo hit. You were also convincing to Manto. Why did not he get such a box office response?
We do not want to see a negative trait in the main character. Maybe the habits of Manto or the end of the film were not acceptable to the public. Maybe the viewers wanted to see a winning end. The movies have spoiled us, we only want to see the victory at the end. I shot another movie, Raman Raghav 2.0, but that did not leave the desired impact on the audience probably because of the negative protagonist.

What is the best compliment you have received so far?
People who know Bal Thackeray and have lived with him have tears in their eyes. They became moved by seeing me as Thackeray. It was the biggest compliment for me.

It should arrive between June and August. You will forget the first season after watching the second season.

Why do you play so many negative roles in l & # 39; screen?
I played many positive roles, like those of Freaky Ali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Mom. These are not negative roles, they are characters in gray. Raman Raghav was a gray character. Negative characters existed in previous films when bad guys only had negative qualities. I did not play any character with not even a positive feature. I like to play such characters and they look great on the screen.
Why do not you ask other actors why do not they play negative roles? Our stars have only played positive roles for over 20-30 years. Why do not you ask the stars, of whom you and I are fans, to play only one role in their lives?

What are you looking for before playing a role?
I want to do all kinds of experiments. with my roles. I do all of Ganesh Gaitonde, Thackeray, Freaky Ali, Manto, Bajrani Bhaijaan to Maajhi. I like to play roles that put me in an uncomfortable zone and allow me to experiment. I like to take on difficult roles.
