Past Bhiku Mahatre at Satya (1998) at Sardar Khan at Gangs of Wbadeypur (2012), from a homobadual professor at Aligarh (2015), at an intriguing politician at Raajneeti (2010) – l & # 39; Actor Manoj Bajpayee has enthused fans with a variety of roles in his 25-year career in the movies. In addition to taking this important step in his career, he received the prestigious Padma Shri on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Republic Day.

Excerpts from an interview of the man himself, on the not-so-easy path in movies and his wife. who keeps it on the ground.

What is your state of mind at this time?

How do you feel after winning such an honor? You feel honored and happy somewhere that everything you have done for so many years has been right, your belief was well placed. Also, this is happening in my 25th year of existence in this area … when the trip was not so easy, that it took so much courage and courage to stay true to his conviction and belief.

Since you say that the trip was not smooth, exists there a feeling of validation for all now?

Not just for me. True, since the night of the announcement, suddenly, I have the impression that all the people who congratulate me are congratulating themselves! It is the validation of all the people who have loved me and the work I have done. This is a huge thank you for me.

Is the timing right for this honor or do you believe that it took a long time?

My family members think that they always say "that (a) I've been coming for many years," but I'm hardly anyone waiting for that one. A prize is awarded. I like going from the front to the last. I am pleased that this honor has come at the moment when I am celebrating 25 years of a difficult journey in the film industry. All this, together, gave me a reason to celebrate.

But also how important are the rewards to you?

You feel happy when you get it, but in the end, it's an honor given to you and a reward is completely different. Padma Shri is different. A prize is awarded for a particular performance, but Padma Shri is for your contribution only to the cinema but also to society through your profession. It's also for the way we behaved. It's the greatest honor, and when everyone has the feeling that it was long overdue, I feel so much happier that they wanted it to happen to me. .

You said that your wife was your greatest critic. What was his reaction?

She was very happy and, delighted, she called her parents. The kind of practical people and family that we are, we got up early the next morning, after the announcement, and during our morning tea ritual she said, "You have this one , let's start working for the future now "(laughs). This is the kind of family we are, we are very happy with these achievements, but we know at the same time that we have to leave here.
