A biopic on the legendary cricket player Kapil Dev is in preparation. With Ranveer Singh describing the lead role, Ammy Virk was finalized to play Balwinder Singh Sandhu in this biopic titled "83".

The last name to join the cast is the actor Tamil Jiiva. Earlier, it was reported that Jiiva had been hired for the film and the actor was delighted to be part of the film. Being himself a cricket lover, Jiiva played several cricket matches and was also part of the winning teams. Now, another report suggests that it was finalized to play Krishnamachari Srikkant in '83.

Producer Madhu Mantena shared the details with a newspaper. She said that she was still a big fan of Jiiva since she had seen one of her favorite movies, knockout, with him. The manufacturer also revealed that she could not think of anyone better who could play Srikkant as well.
