Marvel is the first solo film of the studio to present a Super woman. The Wasp shared the title and space on screen in Ant-Man and the Wasp and Scarlett Johansson will take over the role of Black Widow in an upcoming film.
Marvel usually organizes press shows of his films a few weeks before their release – this happened with Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther and The Guardians of the Galaxy, recently. Each film builds on the positive buzz to score at the box office when it's released.
According to rumors, Captain Marvel would be a major player in the future of the MCU, ready to succeed Captain America and Iron Man.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Samuel L Jackson, who plays the role of a young Nick Fury in the movies of the 90s, said about Captain Marvel: "She's pretty much the character the most powerful – in terms of being able to do things – in the Marvel Universe. So for Carol Danvers to be that person and Brie to become that person, it will be a matter of dynamite. I mean, [the Avengers] are facing very difficult hurdles right now – we have seen throughout the war against Infinity -, so we now know that we need something as powerful as Thanos. And at some point, we will discover how powerful she is and all that she is capable of. She is one of the few people in the Marvel universe who can travel in time.
The film is starring Oscar-winning film Brie Larson, starring Jackson, Jude Law, Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou. The film's release is scheduled for March and will be followed by Avengers Endgame in April.
