– WWE reportedly attempted to sign new talent deals after Dean Ambrose chose not to renew his contract. PWInsider reports that WWE officials have met talented artists whose contracts will expire in the coming years, seeking to sign new five-year contracts similar to those signed by Miz and Kevin Owens last year.
It seems that the departure of Ambrose – and the possibility that he will go to AEW – is the driving force of activity at Smackdown. PWInsider adds that several members of the lineup were "surprised" at seeing everything unfold. WWE has publicly confirmed that Ambrose would leave after the expiration of his contract after WrestleMania.
