Director Madhur Bhandarkar recently announced that he was about to return to the director's chair with his next strange film entitled "Inspector Ghalib". The film would be inspired by real events of the sand mafia in Uttar Pradesh, but the director is about to give the story a larger than life treatment.

The reports also claimed that Madhur wanted a leading actor for his film. Rumor has it that Shah Rukh Khan was approached to star in this film, which is nothing like "Simmba" or "Singham". The director reportedly told the story to SRK and although the actor liked it, he has not yet given his agreement.
The untitled project is currently in the pre-production phase. Madhur is finalizing the venues, the cast and the technical team. Manufacturers plan to begin work on the project by May.
