EXCLUSIVE Chetan Salunkhe, winner of Dance Plus 4: "I have never had the money to pursue a professional training"

Dance Plus 4 declared last night winner and Chetan Salunkhe won the trophy. Price of 25 lakhs in cash. The winner, who has also unsuccessfully auditioned in the last three seasons of the series, still tries to believe that he has really won this season. In an exclusive conversation with us, Chetan revealed that he had learned all he could through online tutorials and that he could not believe his luck when he had the chance to meet artists with which he had learned the technique. His biggest moment of the season was watching his father in costume and his mother wearing makeup, both very proud of their son. Of course, he also met his idols, Prabhudeva and Govinda

Congratulations on your win in the season. How do you feel?

That still has not sunk. I did not imagine that I was going to reach the final and even less the trophy. My trip with Punit Sir and all my friends here was memorable. I've learned so much from everyone here.

You have also auditioned in the last three seasons …

I have already auditioned a lot for the show. In fact, even for season 4 of the show, I was not selected for the Pune auditions and I came to Mumbai the next day to audition here. I had always told my mother that one day she would watch me on TV, but I would have a broken heart every time I was not selected and she asked me how the hearing was going. So this time, I did not tell him that I was going to audition. Mom never told me anything as such, but she had the impression that it took money to be selected in reality shows. She now knows that even people like us can have opportunities. I am extremely happy to see my parents so happy.

What is your plan now that you have won the show?

First I want to buy a house for my parents. We are currently living in a basti and people here do not react as well to dance. I am not even a professional dancer. I practiced the night in the streets, I never had the money necessary to follow a professional training. I first want to buy a nice house and I have two sisters, so hopefully also get them married. I teach 15-20 boys everything I can and what I know about dancing. It is mostly an outdoor activity because I do not have a course as such and it is difficult to practice outside during the monsoon. I would also like to invest in a place where I can start my own clbades. I want to help as many people as I can, especially those who can not afford it.

What was your best moment in the series, other than winning the trophy?

One of my favorite Marathi actresses, Ketaki Mategaonkar, came to meet to surprise me on the show. I am crazy about her and I am even on social networks. Meeting her with other celebrities was one of my best moments. I could even dance with Prabhudeva sir. I've learned a lot by watching his videos. I could never attend professional dance clbades because I could not afford the fees. In fact, my mother's favorite actress is Madhuri Dixit and she was able to dance with her. One of the other most memorable moments was my entry into the top 12 and I was told that there was a surprise for me. I turned around, the doors opened and my parents entered. I have never seen my father in costume and my mother wearing makeup or dressing in a fancy sari. It was the best moment for me.
