"Whatever I did, it's fantastic and I'm very proud. Twenty-four-year-old Mission Impossible and Slumdog Millionaire have all been critically acclaimed and extremely successful. I have received many offers from great directors and production houses.

"But nothing was exciting enough for me, I had to raise my bar. It must be worth the wait. You will be surprised – I do not want to take names – from the film in which filmmakers or producers have considered me. But I was not happy with what was offered me.

With a screenplay written by Simon Beaufoy, the film is inspired by novel Q & A by author Vikas Swarup and presents Dev Patel, Freida Pinto and Irrfan Khan. .
