Nawazuddin Siddiqui: You are perceived as a good actor when you give 100 Cr

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is delighted that Thackeray was a resounding success at a time when a "strong" perception governs the craft that an actor is considered a heavy artist only when the film crosses the bar of 100 Rs. mark.

The actor, who's carved a place in staggered movies, said he did not care about box-office validation, but that if the talent of one actor is measured in numbers, he can also play the game.

"I do not care about the box office.If I did, I would have done song and dance movies throughout my career, those who will become successful.But today, you are perceived as a good actor only if you give a 100 crores success, "Nawazuddin told PTI in an interview.

"Since we perceive that you are an actor only when you give films to success, I think I should start making movies where there is a comedy with a content" tadka ". I can do the films I believe in, as well as this kind of cinema once a moment, "he added.
The actor said the performance of his box-office films had never obscured his choice of future projects. That's why he is delighted when a film like Thackeray becomes a hit.

"The film did not have any songs, there was no comedy, no suspense … it was just the life of a man we told him about." In two hours, when a film like this works, we feel happy, we saw the benefits of the weekend and it is good to see the film stand up, "he said.

Nawazuddin said that he was not worried about the wicket, but that he was "worried" about receiving the film.

However, the film was described as "propaganda" by some, but the actor said that he did not understand the rationality of the argument. "What have we done as propaganda?"
