Sonam K Ahuja: People in a Privileged Position Have More Responsibilities

Sonam K Ahuja has recently chosen interesting scenarios. With his latest projects – Neerja, Padman, Veere Di Wedding ] and now Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga – she was trying to blur the gap between social dramas and commercial films prevailing in Bollywood.

She talks about her ability to take risks. "I have a safety net coming from a family where I do not have to fend for myself. Even though kaam nahi milega (I do not have a job), everything will be fine for me. People in a privileged position are more responsible for making the right choices.

"Even though I am not supported by my father, I support myself completely, but I have the safety net of my husband, my father or my mother. Honestly, I feel that when you come from this place of privilege or you realize something in life where you can make difficult choices, you must make courageous and responsible choices. "

Sonam says she's trying to find a balance between success and substance. "Whether Veere Di Wedding or The Zoya Factor I feel that I need to be responsible when I select commercial films. There must be a balance because eventually.
"I know that a film like Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga will not have a big opening at the box office, but as people know it's a Sonam Kapoor film that will convey to the once a message and entertainment, it will be open to 4 crore, which is enough for me, because the film has only 1,000 screens, "she added.
