Responding to the general comment of a fan about the potential of the film The Trench the director of Aquaman, James Wan, said : "During the early stages of preproduction, I fell in love with the trench and its creations … and I secretly hoped to explore this world further." That does not mean, however, that the film is happening since Wan added, "(Now, I do not confirm or refuse this project;)."

It seems quite clear now that The Trench is actually a film in development. That said, it does not mean that it will certainly happen in theaters. The films come and go constantly from development, which may make it an idea currently being launched
The news was first published on Friday in an article by Hollywood Reporter . According to sources speaking with the trade publication, Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald would currently be able to write the screenplay. Wan and Peter Safran play the role of producers in what is considered a modest budget film.
No word yet on a potential release date.
