Priya became a celebrity overnight after a small teaser of her nod to her movie in Malayalam became viral on the Internet. In a recent interview, Priya Prakash revealed that she had been placed under house arrest by her family when her video went viral overnight, while she was constantly being harbaded by the press and people who wanted to get a glimpse of "the girl at a glance". She added that since everything was new to her family, her parents did not allow her to go out and that it was her father who was responding to repeated beatings at the door and told the press that she was at the inn or outside.
