NEW DELHI: Google Doodle paid tribute to the legendary actress Madhubala on her 86th birthday.
Often referred to as "Marilyn Monroe of Bollywood," Madhubala was a talented actress. She was known for her beauty, her personality and her sensitive representations of women in films.
Born in Delhi on this day in 1933, Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dehlavi was raised in a city located near the Bombay Talkies movie studio. She appeared in her first film at the age of 9, nicknamed Baby Mumtaz.
Raised in the slums of Bombay, she supports her family as a child star and quickly becomes a main woman known for her on-screen elegance and considerable acting abilities.
