Have we received another enticing clue to the content of the upcoming Amazon Prime series on Middle-earth ? Earlier in the day, Amazon tweeted a map of Middle-earth from its site The Lord of the Rings on Prime . The map itself has geographic features, but no text: no names of regions, mountain ranges, etc.
After further examination, I am immediately struck by the fact that the map extends much further to the fact that it did not look familiar there. Of course, when I compared the maps of many of my many editions of The Lord of the Rings, the mountain range east of the Rhun Sea does not exist on Tolkien's maps. I corroborated that with maps of "The Middle Earth Atlas" by Karen Wynn and Brian Sibley's "Middle Earth Maps" (did I mention that I was not there?). had a respectable collection of books of Tolkien and Tolkien, the size of a giant)?) Nowhere could I find this mountain range and what appears to be a nearby forest, on Tolkien's maps . That's it, I believe *, * the key.
The fact that there is no text describing any geographical feature is probably part of the provocation. To give a name to these regions is more than what they wanted to give for the moment. Could this be consistent with a previous index suggesting that the new series would follow a young Aragorn. The text and appendices of The Lord of the Rings have taught us that Aragorn had traveled a great deal in his youth. The only text of the tweet that accompanied the card was: "Three rings for elven kings under the sky", which, of course, constitutes the first line of the verse of the ring. Could this mean that elves are connected to the new region? Or, since it is Sauron who uttered these words for the first time, does that imply that Sauron will make an appearance?
