One day after teasing the fans with the poster, the first Milan Talkies trailer was released. It contains all the elements of a small town story: an average guy who loves movies and the girl of his dreams who has local henchmen for his loved ones.

Ali plays the role of a man working in the screening room of a single-screen theater in Allahabad and dreams of becoming "director of Hindustan ka sabse bada". High ambitions, pbadion, love and politics dominate the trailer of the Milan Talkies. The film marks the debut of Bollywood with Shraddha Srinath, who plays alongside Ali Fazal in the film.

The trailer perfectly illustrates a predictable love story, but the authenticity of the frame arouses our interest. The two-and-a-half minute video begins with Fazal imitating Dilip Kumar from Mughal-E-Azam, and then presents the audience with the parameters and story of love. We see him later copying the epic scene of Amitabh Bachchan in Coolie while he beats some men.

The trailer also offers a glimpse of the caste and local politics, as envisioned in a Tigmanshu Dhulia film. Dhulia previously did Bullet Raja, Haasil and Paan Singh Tomar.

Milan Talkies is directed and written by Tigmanshu Dhulia. Kamal Pandey co-wrote script and dialogues with Dhulia.

"What really mattered to me was the fact that this boy is working in a projection room that is the center of communication with the outside world in a small town like Allahabad and yet. he is unable to communicate his love to his girlfriend. It's a story that revolves around them at a time when the single screen was making the big step towards the multiplex. It's a story of unconventional love, "said Ali in a statement.
