The designer Karl Lagerfeld's pet, the cat named Choupette, is almost as much an icon of the fashion industry. Felix would have inherited the multimillion dollar fortune of the fashion designer after his death.

Choupette, a Burmese (domestic cat breed) Lagerfeld adopted after a cat session for the French model Baptiste Giabiconi, has lived a pampered life with the icon of fashion.

According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, Choupette could be entitled to a fortune of several million dollars in German law if she had been named "heiress".

An Instagram account dedicated to documenting the subtleties of Choupette's life has 120,000 followers. The famous feline also owns a popular blog, both led by digital marketing expert Ashley Tschudin.

Famous fed with silver dishes and subjected to a luxurious grooming regime, fears surround what would become of the feline after the death of its owner.

But Choupette will not be in the street, Lagerfeld having already confirmed that she would receive it before. ABC reports online

"She has her own little fortune, it's an heiress," said Lagerfeld in an interview in 2015.

While Lagerfeld's love for her cat was such that he had told CNN in 2013 that he would marry the blue-eyed animal if it was legal. "There is no marriage for humans and animals yet," he said. "I would never have thought of falling in love with a cat like this," he said.
