RJ Balaji's LKG is a perfectly written and executed political satire in which the radio-jockey turned actor spared no one. From central politics to state politics, everyone has been brutally criticized for the intelligent writing of Balaji and his friends (as mentioned in the credits) and director Prabhu.
Lalgudi Karuppaiah Gandhi, aka LKG (Balaji), is a small politician (district councilor) in his area. Born in Nanjil Sampath, a failed politician and orator, LKG does not want to become a father, so he borrows all the shortcuts to climb the ladder of success of his party, which currently leads Tamil Nadu.
For Critical Rents: A Powerful Movie With Stunning Visuals |
Chronicle of Kanne Kalaimaane: Can satisfy a rural public!
LKG seeks the support of political strategist Sarala Munusamy (Priya Anand), but even convinces his team that district councilors can be helpful in to study the great politicians.
After following various strategies, LKG becomes famous thanks to a fun song that announces to the public that it even attends a prime-time talk show on the national television channel. Impressed by his growth, the leader of the party LKG (Ram Kumar) offers him a position of deputy in the partial poll (the true leader of the party dies after prolonged hospitalization). But LKG must defeat veteran Ramarajan Pandian (JK Ritheesh). Can the oppressed win big in the elections?
What is very positive in favor of LKG is the satirical vision of the film on the country's obscure contemporary politics. The comic timing of Balaji and his image are another considerable advantage. The film is full of references to fashion such as the importance of the creators of the memes, influencers in the media / companies, Thala-Thalapathy fanaticism, recent political atrocities and many other things that will certainly work with the mbades. LKG is the homeland of Balaji and therefore hits each ball out of the park.
For LKG, everything that Balaji has done is perfect, but in the future, he should improve his game if he is serious in his hero roles! The characterization of Priya Anand is quite nice in the movie. She presents herself as a strategist in corporate politics and there is no forced romantic angle, which is indeed a refreshing gesture. Of course, there is a romantic number, but it only ends with a one-sided love story.
The other great strength of LKG is that Balaji's character remains faithful until the end of the film. Although the highlight is very similar to Shankar's films, the conclusion tells us that it is impossible to change politicians and that "change rests only on the hands of voters". Nanjil Sampath as a failed politician is an interesting casting choice. JK Ritheesh and his gay comedy scenes are bothersome in the film, but otherwise, everything else in the movie works pretty well.
Technically, the songs of Leon James are already great hits and the young composer did a good job re-recording too. Running time of 124 minutes is an added benefit. Overall, in this political season, LKG is a timely publication and a revelation for all young voters.
