The biopic of the late Prime Minister NT Rama Rao, better known as NTR – NTR Kathanayakudu, did not arouse any public interest. The balakrishna-starrer has failed to attract crowds to theaters. Now, the sequel – NTR Mahanayakudu, published Feb. 22, has suffered the same fate.
With an appalling start, the film is a failure across Telugu states at the box office the first day. The film also received bad ratings and criticism from moviegoers.
NTR Mahanayakudu has just collected a crore of Rs 2.12 on Friday. It is interesting to note that last week's releases have better theater occupancy than last.
The biopic has been divided into two parts. While Kathanayakudu focused on NTR's life on celluloid, Mahanayakudu presents his political life with Balakrishna in each of them. The ambitious project, the two episodes seemed to have turned against Balakrishna and director Krish.
