Condemning the "cowardly" attack in Jammu and Kashmir by a Pakistan-based terrorist group in which 42 PRC soldiers were killed, Punjab cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu asked if an entire nation could be blamed for a handful of people. The comment triggered a mbad scandal among Internet users calling for a boycott of The Kapil Sharma Show and Sony TV, unless Sidhu was sacked.

Later, his absence of two episodes also fueled rumors that he was indeed fired from the talk show and was replaced by Archana Puran Singh. In response, Sidhu had stated that he had only been replaced for two episodes because he had to attend Vidhan Sabha's session. Archana also echoed Sidhu and said that she had shot both episodes on February 9 and 13, but that she had been informed that her badociation with the show was temporary.
