Spike Lee jumped for joy, hugging Samuel Jackson after winning his first Oscars. (Source: AP) After spending three decades in Hollywood cinema, Spike Lee won his first Oscar without distinction on Monday. But that was not the only reason the veteran director of movies such as Do The Right Thing, Mo Better Blues, Inside Man and other hits made headlines.
The Best Adapted Screenplay Award was presented to Lee for BlacKkKlansman – and was presented by none other than Samuel L. Jackson.
Lee threw himself into Jackson's arms and took him in his arms, while the actor and the director celebrated the great victory. It was a matter of emotion and many said that life was coming to an end, since it was Lee who had given Jackson a major breakthrough in Hollywood with the 1991 film Jungle Fever, and had makes the actor a pillar of the industry.

The score [1965900] Jackson also wrote a little off script and informed Lee of the result of the New York Knicks game before announcing his name as winner. It is not normal to announce the score of the New York Knicks, but the basketball team is the favorite team of the director. The Knicks also had a cold spell, losing their last 18 home games. But Sunday night, they even won.
