The WWE Universe welcomed Kevin Owens to his homeland last night as he returned to SmackDown Live. "The Prizefighter" was introduced by Vince McMahon, who described him as "more deserving" to face Daniel Bryan at Fastlane. McMahon's decision would make Kofi Kingston lose his chance to win the WWE title – a problem The New Day contested.

Despite the turn of events, the two Superstars will eventually team up at the end of the night. . They would face "the new" Daniel Bryan and his partner, Erick Rowan.

The match would end after Owens managed to hit Bryan with a Stunner, allowing him to win.

The first time that KO used the Stunner. In the past, however, this has elicited rather mixed reactions from the man who popularized the movement: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

This time, with Owens able to finish the match with the finisher, it seems that things are different Owens tweeted to Austin saying, "Hey @steveaustinBSR, I finally understood!"

"Stink, Kid"

"Stone Cold" was quite talkative about his disdain for Superstars who used Stunner variants in the past. His frustrations stemmed from the devaluation of the movement, which had not been used to end the match.

When Owens used the maneuver in the past, Austin actually tweeted:

"Damn it. I guess I have to teach @FightOwensFight how to make a GD Stone Cold Stunner. Put on the stench on it, kid. @WWE #royalrumble "

Zut. I guess I have to learn @FightOwensFight how to make a GD Stone Cold Stunner. Put on the stench on it, kid. @WWE #royalrumble

I hope that "The Rattlesnake" will be happy to see the Stunner regain his status as a true finisher.
