Kartik Aaryan, Sara Ali Khan and Randeep Hooda play the lead role in Love Aaj Kal 2

After days of speculation, it was finally confirmed that Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan will share the screen space in a Bollywood film. The two young friends will share screen space in Love Aaj Kal 2, also performed by Randeep Hooda. The film also marks the reunion of producer Dinesh Vijan and director Imtiaz Ali after Love Aaj Kal (2009), played by Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone.

The filmmakers announced the announcement Friday through a statement revealing that the film will be in the coming week in Delhi.

According to sources, Kartik, Sara, and Randeep have been doing scripture readings for some time. "Unlike the two previous films of Immtiaz – Jab Harry Met Sejal and Tamasha – which were shot in foreign locations, this one will be shot in Punjab and Delhi," the source said.

Kartik Aaryan confirmed the news by saying, "He (Imtiaz) is one of my favorite filmmakers and I have always wanted to work with him, and I'm glad it's finally happening."

It will be Kartik's second collaboration with Dinesh Vijan The Luka Chuppi duo was released today, and will also mark the reunion of Imtiaz Ali and Randeep Hooda after the acclaimed success of Highway in 2014.
