Kevin Feige responded with a two-part answer. The first of which is a reference to a specific line of dialogue Captain Marvel movie:
"One, she does say it's a real emergency, right? Yeah. "
Essentially, Kevin Feige is saying that it was not a real emergency when a hole in the sky and a mbadive invading force of extraterrestrial warriors fored out on the unsuspecting streets of the Big Apple. Maybe he's right after all, Fury did have the Avengers on the job. One could argue that the invasion was not exactly akin to what Thanos did at the end of Avengers: Infinity War .
