Actress Deepika Padukone will soon begin filming her next project "Chhapaak", in which she plays the role of a survivor of an acid attack. Interestingly, it will be her debut as a producer in the industry.

According to news reports in a newspaper, the actress and future producer is ready to embark on her new adventure. "Deepika first did research on websites to find out how survivors (acid attacks) were affected. She is also looking on the Internet for all available material (photos / videos) on Laxmi to conduct a thorough research on her life. In fact, Laxmi herself has shown herself very supportive, even sharing documents about her journey that are not available anywhere else, or that are not yet in the public domain. The project also provided Deepika with DVDs and USB flash drives containing documents on about 10 survivors. The actor ensures that every detail is in place, "says the report.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak will tell the story of Laxmi Agarwal, a survivor of acid attacks, on a celluloid, and will be tried by Deepika. The actress, who recently married Ranveer Singh, has also launched her website and is ready to make an impact as a producer with this powerful film.
