The High Court suspends the arrest of Sonakshi Sinha in a fraud case

The Allahabad High Court on Friday suspended the arrest of actor Sonakshi Sinha in connection with a criminal case against her who allegedly cheated an organizer of event.

A FIR was lodged against Sinha and four others at the Katghar Police Station, Moradabad, on February 22, 2019, by a certain Pramod Sharma, alleging that she had agreed to participate in an event on September 30 2018 in Delhi and that she had accepted a sum of 37 lakh for this. Sharma then added that she had refused to come at the last moment and that he had suffered huge losses.

He had an interim motion filed by Sinha, a divisional tribunal composed of Judges Naheed Ara Moonis and Virendra Kumar Srivastava. it will only be stopped after the handing over of the police report at the end of the investigation.

However, while suspending his arrest, the court ordered Sinha to cooperate in the investigation and to appear as and when his badistance was needed.

"It is specified that the applicant shall not be subject to any embarrbadment or harbadment", ordered the court.

However, the court rejected another request made in the FIR's cancellation application. against the actor, stating: "The petitioner's reading shows prima facie recognizable offenses against the petitioner. Therefore, we find no convincing reason to cancel the first information report. The prayer for the cancellation of the first report of information is refused. "

At the hearing, counsel for the applicant stated that the Applicant had filed a contingency report containing lenient allegations against him for the purpose of pressuring her.
