We now know Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / Hulk, but in the second MCU movie, Edward Norton was in the role. Of all MCU movies, "The Incredible Hulk" feels the least connected to the universe. Betty Ross, Banner's lover interest for Liv Tyler, never again appeared, any more than Tim Blake Nelson, who was teased as the archnemesis of Hulk, the Leader. But even with this tease, no sequel has occurred, and the only character besides Hulk to have a significant connection to the MCU is General "Thunderbolt" Ross, played by William Hurt, who appeared again in 2016 in "Captain America: Civil War."
