After much speculation, Kurt Angle has finally confirmed that he would be participating in a match farewell to WrestleMania 35. Angle announced on Raw that he will retire after the event in April and thanked the fans for their continued support. It remains to be determined to whom Angle should face WrestleMania, but it seems likely that he is relegated to the rank of Andre the Giant Battle Royal.
The Olympic gold medalist also played a farewell game in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Raw. Kurt hits an Angle Slam on Apollo Crews to win the match. The last four weeks of Angle's legendary career will certainly be rich in emotions.
Angle teased the retreat for a month and was even about to announce it in January before being interrupted by Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin. Angle, 49, has clearly lost a step since returning to the WWE in 2017. He was deeply humiliated by McIntyre in November when he pulled out of the game Ankle Lock. Again, he was beaten by Baron Corbin in January to add further to his misery.
Angle recently played in several men's games where he teamed up with Braun Strowman. It seems that his opponent for WrestleMania could be Baron Corbin, who has continued to torment the veteran superstar in the last 6 months.
Angle returns to the WWE after 10 years of inducement to the Hall of Fame in 2017. He is then appointed general manager of Raw the following night. However, Kurt fought for the first time at WWE after several years when he was named Honorary Shield Member at TLC 2017. He then participated in WrestleMania 34 where he partnered with Ronda Rousey to take Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. 19659004]
