Elections in Lok Sabha: The Prime Minister's first appeal was launched to Rahul Gandhi, Ranveer Singh and many others.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi covered a wide range of political, sports and movie stars – from Rahul Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee to Virat Kohli, Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal – in a blitz on Twitter this morning, calling on them to encourage more people to vote in national elections from April to May.

"Many young people admire you, it's time to tell them: Apna Time Aa Gaya Hai and it's time to introduce yourself with Josh at a polling center near you", he tweeted Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal, using very popular slogans from their hit movies " Gully Boy " and " Uri ".

The first of his 29 rapid-fire tweets went to fierce opponents – Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav and MK Stalin. Prime Minister Modi urged them to "encourage greater voter turnout at the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, and a high voter turnout augurs well for our democratic fabric."

In his next tweets, he tagged Telangana's chief minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, Odisha's chief minister, Naveen. Patnaik, HD Kumaraswamy, Chief Minister of Karnataka, and Jagan Mohan Reddy, President of Congress, President of YSR Congress,

"A vote is a great way to make the voice of the people heard", he tweeted the legendary singer Lata Mangeshwar and the composer AR Rahman.
